National Open University Of Nigeria Students Get E-Learning Tablets

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has introduced e-tablets known as i-NOUN as learning tools for students.
A statement by the Director Media, Ibrahim Sheme, said the Vice-chancellor, Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu, made this known during his courtesy visit to the Chancellor of the university, His Royal Majesty Igwe Dr. Lawrence Chikezie Agubuzo, in his palace at Awene Ezeama-Olo in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. Adamu said the introduction of the gadget, which was at advanced stages, will not
only address the challenge of study materials shortages, but will also cut down fees as well as enhance the updating of those study materials.
"The i-NOUN tablet, which would be made available to all students, will have all study materials needed by students of the university uploaded in it and would be updated regularly to foreclose the possibility of those study materials getting obsolete," he said.
He said plans were underway to set up study centers in Ghana, Benin Republic and Liberia to cater for the education need of Nigerians living there as well as build a world-class broadcast studio with hi-tech equipment where the instructional broadcast of the university would be done.
